The Rule of Thirds
I chose this photo for the rule of thirds because it shows the twin towers at the top of the picture and some of the shadow of the buildings.

2. I think he made these photos by photoshop or some other editing programs.
3. I think the white house would be a great building to take a picture like that for which is in Washington D.C. You would probably have to go when they take tours and stuff to access.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics
There was a photographer who went to view her pictures but found that it was manipulated with. The site used was "Adobe Photoshop" and can be used to change people in pictures, almost as if copy and paste pretty much. When people send their pictures to "big" people like the newspaper or some sort of magazine, they get caught at least a week later. Once each photographer got caught, they lost there job. In other words, don't use photoshop because it will cost you your job & people will know who messed with the photos. I believe that photo editing is highly unacceptable because it's not the real picture. In photography, you're suppose to catch those moments that seem real to you, that have some sort of meaning. It's obviously not real anymore if you have to photoshop or photo edit the pictures.
A.)This photo looks bad because they darkened the picture and they used the spotlight effect. It was useless and shouldn't have been done because it looked better the first time.
B.)This photo doesn't look as bad because you really can't tell what they changed. The pictures look exactly the same from what they tried photo shopping from.
National Geographic Warm-up
I chose this photo because its looks all freaky and cool. It's showing some light in some areas which make this photo look good. Another reason this is my favorite because you can see the difference from the sky and on ground.

Touching People
1. I think it's kind've weird that people take pictures of other people touching each other weirdly, so I think this project is weird.
2. If someone approached me with a camera and asked me to participate in a photo shoot and asked me to touch a stranger, I would say no because thats kind've disturbing and freaky. I wouldn't be able to take a picture doing that.
3. I think that one that would be fun would be taking pictures touching each other's noses.
4. I thought that the photo shoot was creepy because I couldn't see myself taking pictures with strangers.

40 greatest photos taken and Touching People
Justin Lane-Pool
What made me choose this photo was that he's at the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and he's is kneeling down on the thing where it shows the people that died. The guy in this photo, his son had died in the 9/11 accident and he's there at the tenth anniversary ceremonies. I think this photo made the top 40 because it was heart touching because of the accident.
Mark Pardew
I chose this photo because he is giving the animal some water and helping it. He set this photo to show what kind people do to animals when their in need. I think this photo made the top 40 because it's inspiring to people that actually care about animals and don't abuse them.
Aaron Thompson
I picked this photo also because the kid is crying and is getting the american flag for his dads death. They set it up to show the emotion of the kid when his father that had died. I think this photo made the top 40 because its sad about what had happened to the kid and its a great photo.

The Camera
- Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.
- A pentaprism is a five-sided reflecting prism used to deviate a beam of light by a constant 90°, even if the entry beam is not at 90° to the prism.
- An autofocus system uses a sensor, a control system and a motor to focus fully automatic or on a man optical manually selected point or area.
- A pixel is a physical point in arrestor image or the smallest, addressable element in a display device; so it is the smallest, controllable element of a picture represented on the screen.
Aperture-hole or an opening through which light travels.
Shutter-device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, for the purpose of exposing photographic film or a light-sensitive electronic sensor to light to capture a permanent image of a scene.
Exposure-presentation to view, especially in an open or public manner
Depth of Field-the range of distances along the axis of an optical instrument, usually a camera lens.

Camera history and information
The camera obscura effect was discovered by greek an chinese philosophers and came to be know as the first camera, the obscura effect is achieved when inside a dark room a small hole in the wall projects light an through the hole the light is focused on the opposite wall upside down. In the 17th century Isaac Newton an Christian Huygens pieced together an perfected high quality glass lenses and optics, thus bringing man a step closer to modern cameras. In 1827 Joseph Nicephore added the last pice of the equation to successfully build the first portable camera, film. Still to this day Nicephores camera and modern cameras are very similar when it comes to the aiming, pointing, and shooting. Digital cameras capture pictures with an electronic sensor called a CCD unlike nicephores did. When taking a picture you have two modes Auto ( which is when the camera will completely control flash an exposer) and Program ( which is basic point and shoot and unlike auto you can control flash and a few other camera options). The portrait mode is when the camera will try to blur out the background. The sports mode is mostly used for sports or fast moving moments which freezes the moment, the camera will try to use to fastest shutter. The half press is a easy and essential step to help beginners with a camera due to its faster camera response time, more control over focus, and encourages better composition. Disabled flash, which is when the flash is off and the camera uses natural light. The auto flash, which is usually on by default will flash if the camera thinks it needs more light. When your photo is exposed to too much light it will be washed out or too bright. If the photo doesn't receive enough light it will be too dark. The term " Stop" represents a change in the light. The new stop will be 1 stop brighter if the new planet has two sons instead of one. If there is 4 sons instead of 1 then the stop will be two times brighter. A longer shutter speed has more light vs. a shorter shutter speed which has less light. The aperture is like the pupil of your eye, you can increase the amount of light with the aperture by making the opening of the aperture larger.

Best & Worst
This photo was my favorite because he was smiling. Another reason why is because he's standing straight up and not moved around. You can see everything clearly and he's steady.
This photo was my least favorite because he doesn't look like he wants to take the picture. Also because he isn't smiling. He also doesn't seem happy. The picture also looks too plain.
